We work with colleges, universities, and schools around Western New York to create eye-catching large format signage, vinyl wall coverings, and much more. As a new school year is approaching, we thought it was a good time to open our blog minds up to local public and private schools who may be looking to enhance the look and feel of their school with the use of eye-catching vinyl graphics. As the technological capabilities of large format vinyl printing have grown over the years, so has the creative process for making a drab old hallway look and feel powerful, prideful, and visually stimulating.
Let’s talk about a few ways schools can enhance the interior of their school with colorful and creatively designed vinyl graphics!
- The Athletics Department
- Entranceways
- Library & Resource Centers
- Counseling Offices
- The Faculty Lounge
The Athletics Department
One of the more popular and prideful uses of vinyl graphics we’ve seen explode in the last decade or so is decorating various areas of the athletics department. Schools have started to take their locker rooms from a traditional place to prepare for games to a full-on cultural experience, promoting school colors and inspirational messaging to build locker rooms that seem more like Division 1 or professional sports locker rooms.
We’ve also seen how many schools around WNY have adopted new mascots over the last few years due to changes in social norms, and this has created a need for new print marketing of all shapes and sizes.
As students, parents, coaches, and athletes come together to cheer for their school, we’ve also seen gymnasiums, sports arenas, and natatoriums become vibrant examples of school pride with the use of large-format vinyl printing. By creating a unique and cool experience, it helps student athletes feel empowered and confident in their school and logo.
Entranceways
Enhancing the common school entranceways is another way that WNY public and private schools have used vinyl graphics to build school pride and make an affordable renovation that stands out and makes a difference. What better time than now to shift the way your school entrances look as students and teachers embark on a new year, with a fresh start? By using vinyl graphics, you can help new students find their way around a new school, as well as build an artistic and vibrant experience for anyone who will be walking through that door.
Library & Resource Centers
One area of the school that may require a freshening up could be the library & resource centers. This is an area where, traditionally, students would take out a book to read, but it has become more of a technology-based center where students can learn and grow. Also referred to as “learning commons,” these areas often involve comfortable furniture and places for students to complete work, study, or communicate with each other in a comfortable, college-like setting. This is a prime location for enhancing the walls and decorating areas that may be in need of some color and inspiration! A vinyl graphic can do just that!
Counseling Offices
Mental health is something that has become a very important issue in schools and amongst young people. They are more aware than ever of mental health challenges, and removing the stigma of mental health means opening up and talking to teachers and counselors. One area that may be overlooked when it comes to creating custom vinyl graphics to enhance the environment could be areas where school counselors meet with students. By creating designs that invoke comfort, creativity, and self-love, this can certainly help create an environment that can help students feel more comfortable opening up and feel safe to talk about their feelings.
The Faculty Lounge
Let’s be honest, teachers’ jobs are very difficult in today’s day and age. With so much red tape, parental oversight, cell phones, social media, and mental health, teachers have become much more than what they were even 10-15 years ago. There are challenges they go through that require them to be at their best and in good spirits each and every day. The faculty lounge is an area that may not come to mind first when thinking about enhancing a school’s interior with large-format vinyl. Why not create a colorful and inspiring design for where the teachers hang out? It could be a nice way to reward them for their hard work and dedication to the students!
